The Janet Green 31 and Done Open Golf Tourney and Retirement Hoopla

Our very own Janet Green is retiring after 31 years in public service to her beloved state of New Mexico.  A 4 person golf scramble is the perfect ending to a perfect career.

All monies raised will go to the Ronald Dale Green Memorial Scholarship Fund at NMSU.

The event is also known as the No Sappy Speeches Open (NSSO).  Any Sappy Speeches lauding Janet will be subject to a fine of $50 in the NSSO jar.

Golf will commence on October 13th at 8:30 am at the NMSU Golf Course with lunch to follow.  The golf will be a four person scramble.  You must use each team members tee shot at least once per 9 holes.  Janet will have a bag of tricks for sale at checkin for special dispensation.  Long drive, closest to the pin in addition to low score (and high score) will all have their own reward with highly coveted prizes.  The entry fee for the tourney is $50.  Check in will commence at 7:45 am if we can rally from the night before.

For those who can’t, won’t or refuse to play golf with us can help out by sponsoring a hole, tee or lake.  Sponsorships will cost $50 with recognition on a sign littering er I mean decorating the course.

Lunch will be hosted and so if you would like to join us just for that, you are most welcome.  We do need a head count.  Please see contacts below.

A party will be held on Friday night October 12 around 6:30 pm.  Most likely at Janet and Eddie’s house.  More details to follow.

Please let that debonair young man about town, A. Edward Binder, his less handsome twin brother J. Tom Binder or Janet’s bro Jim Green know if you are going to attend the event, sponsor a hole or would like to help.  If you don’t have a foursome you will be assigned to a team matching your skill level, sense of humor and blood type.
